calling all people who read this blog

I really do want your opinion. I am in the throes of my annual spring nesting, where I become so full of ... ideas that I am rendered inert by indecision.

So let me ask you a question. If you were going to paint a small bathroom that gets no natural light, what color would you use? I'm thinking I want to do stripes. maybe. maybe not? I don't know. Also, all these plans sound exhausting. Maybe I'll just sit here and eat chocolate instead.

Whatever you do Lizzy, remember to view the color in the lighting used in that room. You don't want any color surprises.

Since it's a small room (?), I wouldn't do one, all over bright and/or saturated color. How about finding a nice neutral cream color for three of the walls and pairing it with a bright vivid color for the largest accent wall. Or pair a warm neutral with a deep saturated color.

That's my advice.

Stripes = awesome. Playful, fun, two colors, what's not to love? Would they be of equal widths, or pinstripes/pattern?

I just read a Better Homes and Gardens magazine where they did this whole thing about choosing paint colors and the color they were suggesting was honey, in varying degrees of intensity. I actually fell in love with the pictures, so I say for a room without light, go for a light honey color, which I guess is kind of a creamy color ....

And this is coming from someone who is yet to put a lick of paint on a house I've lived in for 4 1/2 years.

I'm with Mary on the honey yellow. I remember that issue of Better Homes and she's right.

Isn't most of your house already a kind of honey color? Stripes don't really scream "boy" to me, but maybe it depends on the color? I'm thinking cooler rather than warmer colors.

are you planning on selling your house soon? if so do neutral. If not,I say neutral base and bright stripes.

a few things about paint color: pick the color you want and then go one shade lighter.
in a small room you aren't in very often, try out your boldest whimses- go for the stripes!

Honestly, it's only paint, if you hate it, you can just paint over it!

Give it a try! I think stripes in the boys bathroom would be darling. I am thinking about stripes in the boys room
