speaking of vanity

I've never been a person who's afraid of getting older. Indeed, I rather like it--each year seems like a little badge of accomplishment to me, and I especially look forward to milestone birthdays, even if the 'milestone' part is only in my mind.

That being said,
if ONE MORE PERSON acts like they are going to pass out from the shock of learning I am not yet thirty, I am going to hit them.

WHAT IS UP?

And so you decide to commemorate this thought by posting a picture of yourself that could have been taken in 1998? I don't get you, woman. I really don't.

BTW, I get the same thing all the time. It's weird and wrong.

Yeah, really.... You don't look anything close to 30. Of course, the picture I have of you in my mind is you at about 20, so that could have something to do with it. Plus, I'm not 30 yet, so you couldn't possibly be 30 yet either.

Wait. You're not 30 yet? So my guess of 40 was WAY off! I guess I'll have to take back that card...

Wait. I AM 30. Is 30 so bad?

no, no. thirty is great. I have no problem with being thirty, I'm kind of looking forward to it. My problem is that I have officially reached the age where routinely appearing several years older is Not Cool. It used to be cool. When I was 12, it was cool. when I was 18, very cool. When I was 25, wonderful. But at 28, it's lost the lustre.

Liz- Since you got me an RSS feed for Christmas, I am resolutely of the position that you are 25 and will be so for the next 5 years.
